MLB Network Free Preview Offered for NLDS Game Telecasts

In time for its two exclusive National League Division Series game telecasts, a free preview of MLB Network will be offered to video customers of AT&T U-verse, Comcast XFINITY, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH Network, Frontier, RCN and Verizon FiOS from Thursday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 11. The free preview is in addition to MLB Network's existing distribution with the top video providers in the U.S., and it will make MLB Network's Division Series game telecasts accessible to more viewers than any prior year.
MLB Network will exclusively televise Game Two of the NLDS featuring the NL Wild Card winner at Chicago Cubs with Bob Costas, John Smoltz and Ken Rosenthal on the call this Saturday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET, live from Wrigley Field. Bob Costas, Jim Kaat and Jon Paul Morosi will be on the game call for MLB Network's exclusive telecast of Game Three of the NLDS between the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, October 10, live from Dodger Stadium.
Both games will be available nationwide and in each club's home TV territory exclusively on MLB Network. 2016 marks the fifth consecutive year that MLB Network will exclusively televise two Division Series games. MLB Network's two game telecasts will be presented by Geico.
In each telecast, MLB Network will provide continuous game coverage during pitching changes by using a split-screen format in commercial breaks, as it has done on MLB Network Showcase throughout the 2016 regular season. MLB Network also will use for the first time Pitchcast tracking of every pitch as part of its use of Statcast powered by Amazon Web Services, MLB Advanced Media's revolutionary tracking technology, and employ its innovative real-time defensive alignment graphic, Shift Trax, to provide live and in-depth metrics about every play. MLB Network's NLDS game telecasts will also feature enhanced audio at each base, plus Phantom and X-Mo camera technology to provide dramatically increased resolution and clarity to replays.

MLB Network will air nearly 200 hours of live coverage of the 2016 Postseason, including game previews, highlights, analysis, interviews and press conferences across all studio programming. MLB Tonight presented by Evan Williams Bourbon will air before and after every Postseason game with reporters including Scott Braun, Fran Charles, Peter Gammons, Jamie Hersch, Jon Paul Morosi, Lauren Shehadi and Heidi Watney on-site at each ballpark. MLB Network's daily Postseason programming schedule, including High Heat with Christopher Russo presented by Liberty Mutual, The Rundown, MLB Now, Intentional Talk presented by Bacardi and MLB Tonight, is available here.
For the second year, MLB Network's social media campaign #WeKnowPostseason returns for the month of October with graphics and videos of MLB Network analysts looking back at famous Postseason moments and reliving some of their own accomplishments, including John Smoltz's duel with Jack Morris in Game 7 of the 1991 World Series, Al Leiter's two-hit shutout in a one-game playoff between the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds in 1999, Sean Casey hitting .529 in the 2006 World Series, and Mike Lowell's MVP performance in the 2007 World Series. #WeKnowPostseason content will live across MLB Network's platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
