The Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels meet Friday in MLB action at Angel Stadium.
The Kansas City Royals could use a win after losing nine of their last 13 games. The Royals have allowed 27 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in nine of their last 12 games. The Kansas City Royals have lost 10 of their last 11 games when allowing four or more runs. Offensively, Whit Merrifield leads the Royals with 52 hits and 20 RBI while Adalberto Mondesi and Hunter Dozier have combined for 94 hits and 60 RBI. Brad Keller gets the ball, and he is 2-4 with a 4.47 ERA and 39 strikeouts this season. Keller is 1-1 with a 1.46 ERA and 11 strikeouts in his career against the Angels.
The Los Angeles Angels could use a win after splitting their last 12 games. The Angels have scored 15 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Los Angeles Angels have won five of their last six games when scoring four or more runs. Andrelton Simmons leads the Angels with 53 hits and 21 RBI while David Fletcher and Brian Goodwin have combined for 81 hits and 30 RBI. Matt Harvey gets the ball, and he is 1-3 with a 6.69 ERA and 28 strikeouts this season. Harvey is 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA and 13 strikeouts in his career against the Royals.
The Royals are 2-5 in their last 7 during game 1 of a series, 13-38 in their last 51 vs. American League West and 4-10 in Keller's last 14 road starts. The Angels are 5-1 in their last 6 during game 1 of a series, 11-4 in their last 15 vs. American League Central and 2-5 in their last 7 games following an off day. The Royals are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles and 2-8 in the last 10 meetings. The over is 6-2 in Angels last 8 home games. The under is 4-1 in Keller's last 5 road starts.
The Kansas City Royals are a team I'm not trying to get behind right now, as they're getting rocked left and right, and that includes Keller, who has allowed five runs in three of his last four starts. Harvey has had hiss issues this season as well, but he's showing signs of getting back on track, allowing two or less runs in three of his last four starts. The Los Angeles Angels have also played their best ball at home this season and have an offense that's kind of picked up lately. The Royals are losing games by the boatload and there's only three teams that have lost more money than them up to this point. Give me the Angels and the reasonable price.
